Oboden Valentine Ibru is currently the Deputy Managing Director of Proton Africa Holding Limited, a group holding company for a power generation company. Oboden started his career at Oceanic Bank International in 1990, and over 20 years, acquired high-level operational expertise within the Banking sector becoming the ED/COO of Oceanic Bank in 2004 and then as the founding MD/CEO of Oceanic Capital in 2007. After leaving Oceanic Group in 2010, he has utilised his Corporate Finance expertise to invest in, consult and project manage numerous initiatives in areas such as Finance, Oil & Gas Upstream, Oil & Gas Midstream, Dredging, and Power Generation.

He currently sits on the Boards of Midwestern Oil & Gas Limited, Metro Health HMO Limited and other Ibru Family-owned companies. He has also sat on the boards of Oando Plc, Business Day Media, Aerocontractors Company of Nigeria Limited, to name a few. He holds an MBA from the International Graduate School of Management (IESE) Navarra, Spain, a B.Sc. Finance, and B.Sc. Decision Sciences from the University of San Francisco, California, USA and is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
