Unwana Esang is a highly experienced strategic thought leader and a professional with over 17 years' experience in the financial services industry, both in Nigeria and across Sub-Saharan Africa.

He possesses a unique blend of skills in corporate strategy, enterprise risk management, business development, banking operations, and change management and has a proven track record in managing cross-functional, multi-cultural, and multi-lingual businesses and functions, with a strong and all-inclusive leadership style.

His areas of competence specifically include retail and commercial banking, salesforce effectiveness and transformation, enterprise-wide agile transformation design, management and execution; strategic programme and project planning, enterprise risk assessment and management, organizational change management, multi-criteria decision analysis, business process re-engineering, research and market intelligence, data analytics and business intelligence.

He holds a Bachelor of Sciences (Honours) degree in Accounting from the University of Calabar and a Master of Sciences degree in Finance & Management from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria, a Member of the Risk Management Association of Nigeria and Member of the Agile Practitioners Association of Nigeria. He is also a PRINCE2 Certified Practitioner and an ICAgile-certified Agile Project and Delivery Management Professional. He has attended several executive education courses at the London School of Economics and Political Science, The University of Pennsylvania, Institute of Risk Management United Kingdom, Lagos Business School and Corporate Governance Society of Nigeria amongst others.
